Freeze Dried Apple Pie

Use a basic dough for 9" 2 crust pie, or buy pre-made crusts and roll them out after coming to room temp.

Preheat over to 425. Line a pie plate with half the pastry dough. Mix the sugar, salt cinnamon, nutmeg and flour in a large bowl. Heat 1-1/2 cup water in a sauce pan and stir in the apples. After they are reconstituted, toss the apples and residual juices in the sugar mixture, coating them well. Scoop them into the lined pan and dot with butter. Roll out the top crust and drape it over the pie. Crimp the edges and cut several vents in the top. Bake 10 minutes, then lower the heat to 350 and bake 30-40 minutes more or until the crust is browned.

Cool and serve with Ice Cream, Whipped Cream or a slice of Cheddar Cheese. Yummy!!
